    Hi,

    I am a licensed California Attorney but am a graduate of a non ABA
    school. Someone posted this e-mail to a law student group. But it
    seems to be in conflict with what is posted on the Washington Bar
    website, which says that a non-ABA lawyer needs to wait 5 years
    before sitting for the Washington bar?

    Yes you would need to sit for our exam but once you are a member of
    CA you would then qualify to sit for our exam.

    Hello,

    An attorney from a non ABA approved law school, would be required to
    comply with APR 3 iii, in order to be eligible to sit for the WA Bar
    exam.

    (iii) admission to the practice of law by examination, together with
    current good standing, in any state or territory of the U.S. or in
    Washington, D.C., or any jurisdiction where the common law of
    England is the basis of its jurisprudence, and active legal
    experience for at least 3 of the 5 years immediately preceding the
    filing of the application.
