Re: Non-Bar Programs - Breyer State Univ.-AL online J.D. De
Posted by JF on 3/16/08

    Dear Thom:

I'm sorry you feel the way you do about Breyer State University Law
School. I have I taken several courses at BSU and no one has yet
contacted me to "sell me" the diploma. They have just offered me hard
work in the law courses. This is the tuffest online school I have
    attended.

I actually take the courses, read the entire lawbook text assignments
and brief some but not all cases. I listen to 20+ hours of cd law
lecture per course/week. I also take the 3+ hour online midtern and
final exams. So I know taking courses at Breyer State U is no
pushover. They BSU require the coursework, but law program is an
independant study type education system so students have to keep
motivated and apply themselves. But Breyer State University Law School
is not "giving away or selling" the JD degrees. BSU law students earn
their degrees. I'm earning my degree.

As far as I know, just from the school website you can see listed
(with photos) 5-6 attorneys and a total of approx. 100+ other faculty
in the different fields. The law program is directed by a licensed
    and practicing attorney.

Thom, Isn't a diploma mill a school that sells you a diploma for
little or no work? This is not the case with Breyer State University.
BSU requires the coursework and the time spent to take the courses.
You must also get a passing grade to get credit for the course.

As far as accreditation, Breyer has no regional or DETC accreditation,
they clearly state this on their website(www.breyerstate.com) but
neither do 8 out of 10 California online law schools. Breyer State
Univesity awards a legal state recognized and authorized non-bar JD
    law degree.

Most CA online law schools are no longer offering the non-bar degree.
At the CA online law schools students must enter the bar jd program,
but if they don't take and pass the baby bar they won't get any credit
beyond the first years courses. This hardly seems fair to the
students. Atleast at Breyer State University you are allowed to
complete the JD program and be awarded a legal state authorized Juris
Doctorate degree. Then its up to the student to put his or her law
training to use in the field of their choice.

Thom, while you have your opinion like everyone else.

I say to you "show me your Breyer State University Law degree", you
can't because you haven't earned it.

In fact I'm just curious, what law school do you go to? Tell us about
your online law schools accreditation. If you even go to law school.
