Jeffrey,
I graduated UH this year, and passed the California Bar on my first attempt (just got the
results last Saturday). I also passed the FYLSX and MPRE on the first tries as well.
I don't know whether those passes are reflective of me, of the school, or of some
combination of the two. I found the school to be very supportive and responsive of me, but
I am also extremely self-driven and was perfectly comfortable doing 4 years by myself. I
occasionally asked practicing attorneys I know for explanations of issues I didn't
understand.
I also did not do Bar/Bri or any other formal bar review course. I bought used bar review
books on ebay and bought a TERRIFIC review book called "Winnin' Time," by Steven Perez
Harris, to which I give massive credit for my pass.
My $.02: if you are able to do the work, stay on schedule, not go nuts from not socializing
with other students - this is a very affordable way to get the JD.
