Post: NY: Rental Home Repairs

Posted by Roy Money on 1/25/10

I am currently renting my home out. The tenant has sent me
a list of repairs he says are required by law to be
completed. These repairs range from an outlet cover that
is cracked, to an exterior light that has no switch and
doesn't shut off. I am trying to find out if these repairs
are required by law to be completed. In the lease
agreement we signed, there is a section that says the
tenant has performed an inspection, and they agree the
dwelling and contents are in satisfactory order. It
specifically states electrical, smoke detectors, plumbing
and heating systems. Thank you for any help you can
    provide.
