    Post: Husbands probation

    Posted by maureen on 3/17/13

My husband is on deferred ajudication for the state of
texas but living in washington. He has a 5 year probation
he is currently almost 3 years in. He is on his 4th
probation officer. my husband missed 2 check in's due to
medical issues once in emergency due to sea food allergy
and provided a call and doctors note and showed up the next
day. The next miss was a medical procedure he had
preformed in urgent care and was on med's so couldn't drive
again called provided a note and showed the next day. This
month he was suppose to check in Thursday but couldn't get
away from work so his po said just come tomorrow by 10. My
husband didn't show up until 1115 and the probabtion
officer sent him to jail. This was Friday we are now at
sunday if my husband doesn't show up to work by tuesday he
will be fired for job abandonment. Washington has a high
unemployement rate and it took my husband 2 years to get
this job. Washington I believe just introduced a law that
is 3 days jail for probation violation but because he is on
probation out of texas this rule doesn't apply to him? That
is my first question I just wanted to give the whole
picture. The PO is also holding my husbands phone he said
he has some questions about whats inside. Can he go thru
his phone and keep it? I thought a probation officer was
suppose to help people be productive people in the society?
Is there anything I can do? Can I get work release or
electric home confinment with the ability to go to work?
    Thank you for your help
