Post: FL: conflicting statements by law enforcement
Posted by carl wood on 7/27/08
my son was arrested for possesion of lortab tried and sent to prison. After going over the evidence I found in the arrest afadavit or incident report that the officer said he found pill in a enpty cigarette pack during a pat down at the jail. But during the trial he said the pills were found in a envelope along with a pack of cigarettes and that he sealed the pack and envelope with evidence tape and signed his name on the tape.Another officer said he did the search and said nothing about finding pills, only that all the idems were put in a paper bag and sent to jail with my son. A jail intake person said at the trial that she found the pills in the enpty cigarette pack at the jail when she was going through the bag. With all the conflicting testimony is there anything that can be done about this We have already appealed but this takes about two years?
