April 10, 2001 Hello, my name is Angela, I am 18 years old, finishing up my last year of high school. I am sorry to hear of your husbands condition, and my hope and prayers are there for you. My mother has RSD, and she too is struggling, but the reason for my response is on a different subject. I was in a car accident in January of this year. My car was totaled and I was found at fault since I was making a left on to on coming traffic, even though I was not necessarily at fault, but as the law goes. Yesterday I found out that the woman who hit me is sueing me, stating that she can not work for the reason of carpal tunel. I was not totally familier with the disease, so here I am. The woman is complaining that she had gotten carpal tunel from holding her stearing wheel too tightly and that is how she got carpal tunel, but reading your article and others, I have come to learn that carpal tunel is a disease you can get doing repetitive actions, or a decrease in calagen. I would really appreciate if you can give me some hints, or advice and most of all your oppinion. My concern is that this woman does not have carpal tunel and couldnt of gotten it from gripping the stearing wheel too tight and most of all, the accident was only a split second. Now I am being sued, I am a high school student, what does this woman want from me? PLEASE HELP ME OUT- GIVE ME YOUR OPPINION. Thank you very much for your time, and God Bless your family.
