my daughter and her boyfriend had a baby boy in 1991 in
Carlsbad, NM. Just before he was a year old they split,
and had court papers drawn up for joint custody. He was
moving to Georga. They did the custody 6-6. He was to get
the first 6 months, and he was responsible to return him
to NM at the end of 6 months. Well, it was about 3 years
before we could find him. My daughter went to georga to
get him. The father beat her up pretty bad. She took her
court papers to the sheriff, and he laughed at her and
told her that they did not recongize NM law. So again he
disapeared with the child. We think we may have found him
in Illinois. Now my question: is her court documents
recongized in Illinios? And if not, how does she go about
getting the child back.
