    Post: Exboyfriend is my boss

Posted by Noreen Strong, odinnwolfe@bright.net, on 6/22/02

First I would like to say that I was dating this man for 5
years. We dated for 2 years and he was hired as the
director of the corrections facility I work at, by the then
judge. I have worked there almost 10 years, and had no say
in his hiring, but was not happy about this. We recently
broke up (we were very professional at work, most people do
not know we were even together). Since the breakup I have
said nothing, but my position has been threatened by him.
He has ensured that everyone else is informed of
information and ignores me. He has told people I have said
horrible things about them, all of which are untrue. Tasks
which I was previously assigned are now being assigned to
people with less "rank" than I have, and it is done on
purpose. I am terrified for my job, and have been
documenting everything that is being done to me, in fear it
may come to a "head". The judge who is in charge of us now,
was not the one who hired him and may not even know we were
together. Do I have legal recourse for the things he is
doing to me? I come home from work and cry everyday over
the treatment I am receiving. It is blatant at work that
the "boys" are in and all us females are left out. He has
even been telling the lowest ranked male, who is his friend
and very young, information about other staff, that should
be confidential. I find it all disgusting and terribly sad
and would like to know if I should or can fight this..
    Please help!!
