    Post: Marriage Annullment in Louisiana

Posted by Hannah, CCbeowulf@aol.com, on 6/29/02

I am deperately seeking legal counsel on a matter. I have
consulted three attorneys in my city with no help. I was
married six months ago and found out upon my wedding night
that my new husband had a sexual problem. he then
announced to me that he had a problem looking at men. This
is sordid so I do not want to sensationalize- only get
answers. He was unemployed at the time but had worked for a
ministry for 10 years. he is now employed with another
large televangelist. After marrying I also found out about
16K in credit card debt he had never paid. Creditors began
calling my house. We were seperated in seperate rooms (he
said he had no where to go and I had never been married and
did not know what to do) for 2 months immediately after
marriage, then I asked him to leave. I was advisewd that I
cannot have an annullment and that I must wait 6 months
living apart from bed and board form each other (the
immediate seperation in the house does not count) for 6
months. It has been three. I have three more. I feel I
should be able to get an annullment based on his sexual
deviance. He does not want a divorce but has said he will
not contest it. Is it correct that I feel I should be able
to get an annullment based on his sexual deviance? Can
someone help me or advise me where to go to get an
    annullment?
This is a nightmare. I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
