    Post: Defamation of Character

Can anyone give advice on how to deal with defamation of
character, slander and libel. The guilty parties are my next
door neighbour and her neighbour friend closeby. This has
been going on since we moved to the area 33 years ago. My
parents both passed away and my brother and myself now live
in the house. Things are being said that are not true about
us. The reason we know is that we picked up their telephone
conversations through a radio that we happened to be tuning
into a station, and caught them talking. I also have tapes
of some of the conversations. How would this stand up in a
court? I am very very worried and also that the neighbours
are saying this slander to other people who don't know us.
These neighbours don't know us either. My parents life was
made hell with this next door neighbour. The ironic thing
is that those two dangerous gossips are pillars in their
respective Churches, not very christian in my book. Or, am I
    just worrying for nothing?
