If it was found out six weeks after a trial that the Expert Witness gave false and misleading testimony, can a Judge overturn the verdict based on perjury? The jury was deadlocked for 2 days. The judge made a suggestion for them to reread the Expert Witness's testimony to see if it helps them. They came back with a verdict and confirmed it helped. Six weeks later it has come to light that the Expert Witness misrepresented himself and gave false testimony. If this information is sent to the judge, can he overturn a verdict based on perjur?
