Post: Asbestos Lawsuit

It probably looks like we're lawsuit happy. I don't think
we are, but these matters need to be settled.
My husband recently had surgery for lung cancer. It was his
second cancer and both of them were unrelated except that it
is well documented that the cancer was caused by asbestos
exposure. We also can document the exposure which happened
when he worked in a shipyard when he was 19 years old (he's
now 70 years old.)
We are repeatedly urged to find an attorney to handle his
claim for asbestos exposure and damages but can't seem to
find an attorney who will handle this case. We do have
medical records that clearly state that the cancer was
caused by asbestos in his lungs. Incidentally, there is
still asbestos in his remaining lung(s) and he no doubt will
have another cancer but fortunately this kind of cancer is
not as aggressive as most lung cancers.
If there are attorneys who post here, is there anyone who
handles asbestos cases and who is interested in this one?
He does not have the type of cancer related to asbestos
that seems to be more common. I don't remember the name but
it's "melis...." something. He probably would be dead if
that were the kind of cancer he had.
Believe it or not, we've never been involved in a lawsuit in
our lives but suddenly it seems that everything is pushing
us towards litigation or else we just sit back and take our
knocks. Which is preferable?
