Post: Marketing Yourself As An Expert

In the "good old days" of law firm marketing, you played a
little golf, took a few clients or referral sources to
lunch, and that was about it.
Since the Great Recession of 2008, we've seen more attorney
shopping, switching, and price sensitivity.
If you practice in a "retail" area, such as personal
injury, mainstream advertising might work. For most others,
advertising is not very productive, and very uncomfortable
to do.
I've come to recommend positioning yourself as an "expert"
in one of your mission-critical practice areas. There are
three ways to do this, which I outlined in an article
awhile back called "Marketing Yourself As An Expert" which
can be found on http://www.socalprofessional.com .
Have you had success by positioning yourself as an expert?
I'd love to hear comments.
