Post: speeding tickets on provisional license

Posted by Blair on 8/21/08
I have four tickets on my provisional license for speeding. I had a court hearing for my license on May 21st. My last speeding ticket was on April 16th, 2008. After the court hearing on May 21st, my license was restricted for 90 days for educational and work purposes. I went to the MVA in order to get my license back after the 90 days was up, and to my surprise they told my license wouldbe suspended for 190 days. They took my license away and told me it was because of the fourth speeding ticket. I was confused becasue that ticket was given to me before the first hearing on May 21st. I am a college student, and need my licene to get to and from class and honestly am too old to be having to worry about that. I requested another court hearing in order to try and lessen the time on my suspension, or at least get it restricted to educational and employment purposes. Is there any advice I can have in order to somewhat lesson the time of suspension? Or am I completely screwed. If worse comes to worse I hope it become restricted for school, but I would wish there would be some way to not have it taken away for six months after the previous 90 days. It's not like I was driving drunk or something. I know I need to stop speeding, but are there any other ways I can help my case in court?
