Post: Bar Exam Tutor Maryland, MD, DC, Georgia GA and others 02/06

Posted by Paul on 9/19/05

I offer a personalized bar exam tutorial for the Maryland
MD Bar Exam; Exam; District of Columbia DC Bar Exam and
Georgia GA Bar Exam. The course consists of nearly three
    (3) months of instruction on black-letter law tested for
the respective bar exam(s), and and intensive practice
using actual bar exam questions for the respective
jurisdictions. I work with anyone who wants to take the
bar, such as repeaters, new students and attorneys.

Students from other jurisdictions are also welcome to
contact me regarding their particular needs, as I have
previously tutored for other jurisdictions, such as
    California and New Jersey

Format: The class is conducted online, which maximizes your
study time, by eliminating wasted travel time and creates
flexible class format that does not require one to quit
their job, ignore their family and otherwise stop having a
life. This format also results in highly personalized
interaction between the student and me.

Summary: I do the following for nearly three months:

    1. Supply a student with a concise but through black-letter
law study outline for each subject tested on the bar
(usually one subject per week). The outlines highlight the
most tested sub-areas on the bar. The outlines contain all
of the law that you need to know and were created after an
intensive analysis of Maryland, DC and Georgia law and
old Maryland, DC and Georgia bar exam questions from 1991
    until now.

    2. After the student reviews the outline for a particular
subject, I supply the student with at least 3 actual old MD
bar exam essay questions for that subject, which they must
answer, using the practice outlines to do so correctly. By
the end of the class, you will have written at least
33 practice essays before the exam. Practice question are
carefully selected to reflect the most tested areas and sub-

topics on the Maryland; DC or Georgia bar exam.

    3. After the student returns their practice answers to me,
I then provide detailed feedback on the student's answers,
in order to diagnose and eliminate any problem areas. Plus,
I will assign additional essays for 'problem' subjects
based upon the quality of the initial answers. I also teach
a concise, efficient method for answering questions.

    4. The emphasis in this class is practice, practice and
practice. You will learn the law and how to apply it to the
facts. Most importantly, you will learn from your
weaknesses and improve upon them. You will also learn to
focus upon the most important areas, instead of trying to
memorize the entire legal code code.

Deadline: Ideally, I will be starting the class on November
27, 2005 which will allow nearly three months for
instruction and review for the February 2006 bar
exam. The class will last from the end of November until
at least a week before the exam. (although I hope everyone
currently waiting for results will pass the bar)

Typically, my students work during the day and have
families, so the longer term works well for them. I am at
least as demanding than the examiners will probably be, so
you are well-prepared by exam day. This class uses an
active learning approach because you are always practicing
bar exam skills, rather than just memorizing materials.

My Background: I am admitted and have practiced in MD, DC
and GA, having used this method to pass the bar in all
three jurisdictions. To date, I have successfully tutored
other students on the bar using these methods. I take very
few students at once and work hard with each student on an
individual daily basis for the eleven or so weeks prior to
    the exam.

Comparison: After 3-4 years of law school, worth thousands
of dollars in loans, and a legal career worth many
thousands more, the bar exam is too important a goal to
fulfill just by buying second-hand, dated materials online.
People flunk the bar exam because they merely cram by
    reading books, rather than practicing.

Most importantly, used books cannot provide feedback on the
mistakes that one may be making in their legal writing. I
can and will help a student to maximize their performance
    and pass the bar.

Price: My prices are extremely reasonable, considering the
personalized quality of the instruction, which is
unavailable in larger commercial courses. This class is
based upon diagnosing and fulfilling the needs of
    individual bar candidates.

I am a serious teacher who teaches serious students.
