Do I need a BS/BA to be a > paralegal? Lisa, in order to be a paralegal, you either need to get a Certification (2 years program) or get a BA Degree. Most Law Firms these days require a BA Degree. It is very difficult to find a job in this field without sufficient education. You may be able to use some of the courses you took in advertising to obtain a certification in Paralegal Studies, but most of the Courses are different than what you have already studied.
