I am a NY lawyer and I represent a 27 year old man who was
injured while using a Makita 7 1/4" Circular saw model no.:
5740NB. He was injured when the saw kicked back and the
lower blade guard jammed and did not close allowing the
rotating blade to make contact with his left thumb. This
particular saw model was recalled in December 2002 for a
defective lower blade guard. I am interested in finding out
if anyone else has been injured by the same model saw or
knows of anyone who has been injured.
