Post: Title Search Error

Posted by Nicola Allen on 5/02/07
I purchased an investment property in 2005. Last month a letter was sent to my house stating they are going to foreclose on my property due to an unpaid deed for 250,000. Apparently, my property was attached to 3 other parcels. The owner never paid it off. The lender was unable to locate the previous owner and wants to foreclose on my property. I called the title company and they stated they have no idea what Im talking about and the search went back 50 years and found nothing out of the ordinary. The lawyer called the title company to discuss an alternative to foreclosure and the title company is avoiding their calls. If they foreclose on my property can I sue the title company???
