Post: Neighbor Harassment

Posted by Sarah on 7/02/07
My neighbor has just installed a security/ video system on their home when all was said and done I had noticed that one of the cameras was pointed directly at my house and NOT her property line. She lives across the street from me. She is currently suing the neighbors next to her over property lines and she also has video cameras facing that neighbors back yard. My issue with this is that I have 3 small children and it was confirmed by a local police officer that the whole lenght and front of my home is in view of her camera but it is not zoomed in. My children everytime they are outside are being video taped and I feel like every thing I do is now under survelliance. Is this leagal??? Can this woman do this ??? My privacy is being invaded and I feel as though I am being harassed. We called the company who installed the system and filed a complaint in which they responded that they would fix the cameras well it has been over a week obviously we are not a priority. This woman who is taping us is claiming that she fears for her life and that is why she is watching us. I have the police report with her exact statement. We had a conflict with her reguarding parlikng issues which was to our understanding resolved 1 year ago with our lawyers. I however do have a case to take her to court for harassment for that previous episode , but since money is tight we settled on an agreement to keep the peace and stay to ourselves. Now she is taping us and our every move and it makes me unconfortable that she is doing this. I have done nothing wrong, nor has my husband . We have no police complaints against us and we have done everything in our power to try to live a peaceful life. She makes it difficult and I feel traped in my own home I feel like i am in a glass bowl. What are my rights? what exactly can I do??
