Post: Neighbor harassment -- need advice

Posted by Mike on 8/31/07
I have a neighbor who lives upstairs from me in my condo
complex who keeps complaining that I play my music too
loud, to the point now of harassment. She has called the
police on two occasions with the past three weeks -- once
the officer found nothing wrong, and the other, I didn't
even have any music or TV on (in a seemingly retalitory
move as I keep on doing as I have) -- and has threatened
to take this to the condo board to have us fined.
The music/TV sound level is kept at a reasonable level at
all times, and I have never even "blasted" my music. From
talking to her roommate as well as the previous owners in
my unit, it seems that the woman is completely crazy,
unreasonable, and makes everyone's lives miserable by
doing this (called the police on her upstairs neighbor as
they have children who are beginning to learn to walk and,
as you can imagine, stumble).
The police officer who stopped by the second time said
that they are sick of coming to my place and that I have
to work something out with my neighbor. Apparently they
are fed up, but not sure with me or the neighbor -- or
both.
Are there any suggestions of legal actions I can take? I
have already filed a harassment complaint against her with
my condo association.
