Dear Mike,
We are going through the same thing, only our neighbors have
gone so far as to bang on our ceiling when we are talking -
TALKING! People like this belong either in the country or in a
house. While I understand that people may be sensitive to
different things, it does not automatically trump another's
rights to live peaceably within their own home.

I feel your pain, Mike. I hope you were able to stick to your
guns, so to speak, and that your situation was resolved
peaceably. As for "Rep" below, your comments are strictly
speculative when it comes to Mike's situation. Unless you have
knowledge of the building materials used in his apartment
building, your knowledge of acoustics goes nowhere. For those
of you in a similar situation, if your neighbor refuses to let
the authories in to *verify* the very noise she/he is
complaining about, it seems to me that little can be done to
appease this neighbor. Good luck, consult your tenant's
rights, and document everything. And don't be afraid to get
authorities involved on your side. If they're accessing help,
shouldn't you?
