Post: OWNER WHERE YOUR WORKING AT

    Posted by Maria on 10/21/07

I was working at this store as a sales associate. In the
policy it doesn't say anything about you not being able to
read a book or magazine when all the work is done and
there aren't any customers in the store. So one day the
owner came down from Arizona to Hawaii and walk in the
store I was working at and cought me reading a book. But
there weren't any customers in the store and I finish all
the work that had to be done. And when I do know there
were customers in the store I stop and put my book away
and approch them with customer service. But the owner
lectured me for about 20min and put me down telling me how
can I be able to work in a good job in the future and made
me cry. We also used to drop a deposit bag to the bank
after work and we weren't getting paid for those minutes.
Is that right for him to do that and for us to drop off
money to the bank and were not even on the clock any more.
So I quite working there because I feel the boss didn't
need to put me down in that way and could of talk to me
nicer. Also what if your boss is prejudice, like he'll
only be nice to you if you had blone hair, blue eyes, and
if your not he won't respect you as much? is that fair???
