Follow legal process and go to the hearing on your special
permit. Apparently your neighbor got the city to consider
your use and the city decided that a hearing on a special
use permit is warranted. Take advantage of the due process
that must be afforded you in this matter.

Business is often difficult. Imagine the difficulty big
companies like WalMart face when trying to open a new
business. Just hope you don't uncover any "ancient" remains
in your building project or disturb some protected species
of critter.

Good luck -- business is difficult by design but if you jump
all the hurdles you will appreciate what you have created
all the more.
