Post: Son's mail intercepted

Posted by Brenda on 7/31/09
My 13 year old son was away at summer camp for 2 weeks.
When I picked him up, I asked him why he never wrote. He
indicated that he did write, but the counselors opened his
letter and threw it in the trash.
The letter simply stated "COME GET ME!"
and was written on his 3rd day there.
The letter was sealed, properly addressed (I did it
myself!) and stamped.
Isn't this a crime? Does it matter that he is a minor?
They also wouldnt let hime call me and specifically stated
that he wanted to go home. Isnt that also a crime to keep
a someone against their will?
Thanks for your reply.
