Re: Opening someone elses mail

I hope that someone can answer my legal question.
On 7/10/2008 I mailed a package from UPS to Bozeman Montana. The
package contained 2 framed pieces of artwork. The package was
never delivered to the address in which it was sent to. I then
was told the package would be returned to the store which I had
sent it from.
On 7/12 the package arrived back into SLC, but instead of being
delivered to the store which I had sent it from ~ to view and
make a claim on it, UPS took it upon themselves to THROW IT IN
THE GARBAGE, denied my claim, and said they felt like it was too
damaged that I wouldn't want the contents of the package! Can you
believe it? What are my rights? Can they just thow my personal
belongings/mail in the dumpster without consent? HELP PLEASE!!!
