I recently took my infant into the ER and they had a computer set up in the room (computers are in every ER room). After the nurse left the room I glanced at the computer and saw the following, each patients full name, the room number the were in, if they were male or female, their reason for being in the ER (weakness, nausea, vomiting, and diarreah, broken finger, etc.), who there Dr. and nurse was, what time they were admitted and date, and when they were released, and finally some proceedures ordered such as xrays or an ekg. My daughter's information was posted as well. I did not feel comfortable knowing that the other patients could be veiwing my information as I was observing thiers. Is this a violation of the hippa law?
