    Post: Unrealistic neighbors

    Posted by Patey on 5/14/06

I live in a condo community surrounded by four neighbors.
The community allows animals including dogs up to 125lbs.
Since moving in I get along with all my neighbors except
my downstairs neighbors. The first week I moved in the
downstairs neighbor's wife knocked on my door to WARN me
that she could hear me walking around my apartment. Since
then they have complained about me flushing my toliet, the
shutting of my door, the ringing of my doorbell, the
playing of loud music in my apartment and car in the
    garage (I don't even own a stereo? I have a tv and a
computer). I am rarely home when they are and work two
jobs, never have any parties, and rarely have friends
    over.
I moved into this community b/c they allow dogs and I
wanted one. I bought a dog within the communities
parameters. They have called security on me several times
who show up @ my door each time. The downstairs husband
repeatedly pounds on my ceiling. The security guards
reports indicate that on each occurrance they found no
noise or violations. Twice I had to get out of bed turn
on the lights and answer the door. I found out that they
had the previous tenant evicted. They are owners and I
rent. Recently they posted an article in the buildings
elevator trying to start a movement against dog owners.
They are cowardly never put their name on the posting. I
responded with my name and apartment number. I received
much support from my neighbors(half of whom own dogs).
The apartment complex and my landlord have told me that I
have done nothing wrong and that these people have
issues. What can I do to protect myself against these
    constant attempts to evict me?
