Re: ford air bag non-deployment
Posted by Elaina Daoust on 8/14/08

I am about to fight with Ford right now, my airbag light has
continued to come on in my car over the past coule years and i have
had it checked by Ford several times, they have told me it's an
electrical problem and turned it off. it comes back on a month or so
later always. I just took the car for a different problem to a
friend/mechanic who noticed the airbag light on, he ran tests and
two codes poped up, CTCB1994 or B1998, apparently Ford 2001+2004
Escape vehicles may exhibit the air bag warning lamp, different
problems cause this but there is a repair kit for this that needs to
be done, the part name is Connector Repair Kit- 1L8Z-14A411-A, Ford
is aware of this problem!!! This is some body harness pigtail part,
i wont pretend to know what that means, but i trust my mechanic. if
this light is on the airbag will not deploy. What irks me the most
is now my truck is past the warranty, how convenient. Not sure how
the outcome is going to be but i think it would be in their best
interest to fix it rather than get sued later down the road should
an accident occur and they knew the problem existed and didn't fix
    it!
