Brad, thank you very much for your Toyota engine oil slude account! You are FAR FROM
ALONE and the naysayers know it well!

I have heard from many Highlander owners who have experienced engine oil sludge at very
low mileage. There was one here locally that had sludge at just 12,000 miles! Most of
the sludge cases I have heard about in the Highlander occurred at well under 100,000
    miles.

I wish you could have gotten an engine oil analysis on your vehicles oil before you let
it go. These analyses are very revealing. Don't you wonder how long Toyota has had
data related to such engine oil analyses? How much of this data would show that
engines of the sludge-prone vehicles are to blame? What is really happening to the oil
in these vehicles regardless of maintenance? Is something hastening the demise of the
engine oil? Why, in some cases, is the TBN one or less so soon after an oil change?
Why is the viscosity so low after so few miles in other cases? Why is there
consistently higher than normal silicon levels in so many samples?

Let's begin the discussion THERE, shall we? There is no room in this discussion for
name-calling and mud-slinging, Mr. Voulin! Let's stick to the cold, hard
facts...surely you will agree that this is the most educated approach to this issue!
