Funny you should mention that. My wife just called from Tahoe where it is snowing and the ABS light just came on. My understanding is that the ABS system will not operate while that light shines. !!Driving in snow is when ABS is the most needed!! One possibility is that the tire chains have chafed the electrical harness to one of the front wheels. Another possibility is that tires are losing pressure unevenly as the temperature falls --> the computer decides it can no longer compute a proper braking action --> so it turns off ABS. In support of this second possibility is that the uneven tire radius light came on. We will know better when they return from the mountains tomorrow night.
