Re: Brake Failure (ABS) in Toyota Sienna, Camry, Avalon
Posted by AV on 5/14/08
Hi Everyone-I'm a new Totyota owner. I bought a Sienna'07 about 5 month ago. Just last weeks my brakes failed. That was a scary experience. The fact that I am a disabled driver makes it more troublesome to stop the van. When the PEDAL WENT all the way to the FLOOR were really concerned and took it to our local dealership. The dealership replaced the Master Cylinder, but when I when I picked it up I didn't feel any different so we took it back, and now the dealership says the cylinder broke again. The strange thing is I drove it home and parkled it because I didn't feel safe. I don't think it should totally bust that fast. Anyway, I just got off the phone with the dealership. Apparently, I am the only Sienna owner that has trouble with her breaks! My van only has ~4200 mi on it. Should this be happening so soon? I am 2 weeks from earning a Master's degree, and fear that I may be able to attend my final because that van is how I am able to transport my wheelchair to and from where I need to go. I can't go anywhere without my whelchair? Has any of you had the same experience? Or, do you know anyone that has. If you wouldn't mind sharing them with me I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY INFO YOU CAN PROVIDE ME with! I just would like to know I'm not crazy! The dealership is making me feel like I am. Thank you so much, AV
