Yes, this problem is not uncommon. Please report your case to
the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in Washington,
D.C. Also, file an online report with the Center for Auto Safety
at http://www.autosafety.org. Write about your experience on
ConsumerAffairs.com as well.
Find all the car survey sites you can find and let others know
there, too. Toyota dealerships have been telling Toyota owners
that this problem is caused by STICKY DRINKS! That's
right...they have been told that they are to blame for this
problem!
Oh, don't worry...Toyota dealerships may well blame you for other
problems you find. This has been Toyota's history, according to
the vehicle owner reports.
Send Toyota a CERTIFIED letter to report the vehicle problems.
Toyota has some fuzzy math on the complaint numbers. If you
complain verbally or go away quietly, you won't be counted. Be
official so that other Toyota owners find out eventually.
