my wife had a 3 level neck fusion c4-c7 of couse she has
been in alot of pain. she went though months of all the
other stuss epidurals, all the stuff. She started to have
a lot of truble peeing, and left leg numbness poor thing
she has been though hell. Pain doc gives her a dvd on
medtronic scs we hoped it would work.

She had what we thought was the trail. It only stimuated
her right arm. Nothing in her neck, ware she needed it.
pain doc all the girls in the office everyone felt bad it
didnot work. pain doc said she should maybe still talk to
a neo surgon and maybe if they implant it will work, but
just talk to him about it.

So she went, we ask if her pain doc could not get it to
work how could you get it to.He said that happens all the
time and that he could get it to work. He said the lead up
the back do not work alot of the time. That he would
implant it right at c1 and c2 and then it would work. My
wife ask if there would be the need for a lot of
cutting,or a big incision? he said no, a small inision
between C1-C2. in desperation she said yes.

When she came out of surgery she could not move her left
side of her body, for 12 hr. had to be catherized, a
outpainent thing turned into a 4 day thing. in that 12 hr.
she could move her l arm, within 15 hours started to move
her toes of her left foot. and by morring was useing a
walker and finaly pee a little in a bed pan. she had some
test done found her to have urinary retenion,lack of
perineal sensation urethral stricture,hyotonic bladder
dysfunction. her bowls have not moved on there own own
with out lax, since she had this done.

she still has to walk with a cain because of left foot
drop. And get this. on day 2 in hospital medtronic lady (
very nice by the way) hooks her up and low and be hold it
stimuated both arms by still nothing in her neck nothin'.
She went though all this ,all this for nothin'. On the 4th
day she came home but had to back 3 days later to have it
removed. And another thin she had 16 staple in the back of
her neck 16 this small incision was big as hell. from the
top of c1 to the bottom of c5.

then she had to go back and go under again to get it out.
Sorry this is long but i keep readin' about trails and
incions in skin and people being up, going havin' loacal
anesthesia, that you should have 50 % reducion in pain
before you have them put in. She didn't have that she had
a fail trail. she was put under general anestesia.

All that for nothin' I feel so bad for her. I guess I
should not say for nothin' so far the everyone has been
paid thousands and thousands, the neo doc, medtronic, the
hospital, all out of my insurnce. She is suffering more
now then ever. It looks like everyone I read about who get
one of the had both back and leg pain, neck and arm pain
no one with just one pain only.

She never had arm pain,it seems that it has to stimulte
both? I do not think it was every going to give she pain
relief in her neck aloan. She was havin' problem peeing
before this just made it worse. she left leg was havin a
lack of sensation and now its drop foot. I now feel she
should not have had it done but what the hell do you do
went the doc say they can help when they can't. Has anyone
every had this happen.
