Re: Spinal Cord stimulator
Posted by Andie Pauly on 3/05/08

    Carolina,
I thought I was the only one with this experience. I too,
had the stimulator removed because it did not work. I too,
have the most unbearable pain in my hip. Pain I attribute
to the stimulator. I have latex allergies and was not made
aware that the stimulator was coated in latex. I had to
wait 30 minutes longer to have the implant so the surgical
room could be cleared of all latex particles from the
previous surgery as a matter of hospital protocol. Then
they implant me with latex! Unbelievable!
The doctor's office and staff never told me how invasive the
implant procedure was. I did not even know I had two rather
large stapled incisions until after I was home. What a
mess! The incisions hurt to this day.
I feel that I was duped. I was so desperate to be off of
the pain medication, but I never bargained for this. I let
the doctor know immediately that the implanted stimulator
was not working correctly. It took 7 months for them to
remove it, although they put it in less than two weeks after
    my initial appointment.
I am the 41 year old Mother of a beautiful 4 year old girl.
This has really presented a challenge to say the least. If
there is legal recourse I want to be a part of it.
