Hi George, I think that they gave you zero runaround because they know that these ladders have faulty hinges and
are happy to get off with just paying for a new ladder -- rather than medical/other expenses from someone who
is paralyzed or killed from falling off one of these defective ladders.

If you have not done so, PLEASE report your incident to the CSPC 91-800-638-2772) so that there can be a recall.
If people just worry about new hinges/ladders and fixing their own situation without reporting the problem and,
thus, acting to prevent future incidents for others, then the problems will likely continue and someone could be
seriously injured/paralyzed/killed. Please do your part to prevent this, if you have not done so already. Thanks.
