    Post: Medtronics Pain Stimulator

Posted by Ann Clark on 5/18/08

My husband has had four operations now trying to get the
pain stimulator to work. We are at the point now of
looking for an attorney or class action lawsuit. As posted
before, the trial went wonderfully. The first implant
helped the hip, leg and back but had excruciating new pain.
They said was lead rolled over into the canal on nerve.
They did that operation with a neurosurgeon present to
replace the two leads with some kind of bundle; it made
the hip and leg and neuropathy pain come back. They then
done a third operation to pull down the leads. Made
things worse. All of these operations, according to the
Tek was supposed to put a tingle to replace the pain. This
was not told to us before and also on the trial and first
permanent implant did not have any tingle. They then put
the implant in front instead of back but still does not
work but shocks the socks off him when the Tek turns it up.
We have now turned it off completely and the doctor gave
him a shot and that did more good than the implant. But
now they are sort of just ignoring the fact he has a
foreign object doing no good and even burning, etc. We
have started getting bills stating Medicare did not
approve and we owe a lot of money (and thaI t was just for
the first one); the one hospital bill was over $100,000.
Anyone have any positive results; ie good doctor, tek. I
believe the Tek doesn't know what he's doing and doesn't
care. Will keep you informed if we live through this.

    Ann
