Post: Ford Windstar air-bag deployment

I was in an accident just recently and I was somewhat rear-
ended by a car that allegedly hydroplaned. There is damage
to the rear on the driver's. My vehicle slammed into the
breakwall at a hard impact. I am wondering if my air bags
should have deployed? Anyone know? I read somewhere that
they only deploy with a frontal collision. Help!
