Post: 2007 Ford F-150 airbag non-deployment
Posted by Jason Brooks on 1/08/09
At the beginning of November 2008, I was involved in accident whereby my truck went through both sides of a ten foot deep ditch and a pasture fence before the vehicle came to a rest (after the front left wheel breaking right at the ball-joint and tie-rod end). I was wearing my seatbelt but managed to crack my face on the steering wheel breaking my nose and leaving me with a concussion for a week as a result of airbag non-deployment. The accident was a result of avoiding a group of deer in a heavily wooded area. Also the frame and cab are twisted and the vehicle has been wrote off, the areas are not suppose to do that according to Ford because of the new hydra frame and cab design. I spoke with a dealer and he mentioned there was a bulletin sent to him from Ford regarding non-deployment. I have never been notified by the dealer where I purchased it. Also this dealer told me that the sensor is equipped to set-it-off at 60 kph, I was doing about 65 and based on the impacts in my accident, it should have went off. I also noticed some odd things with the passenger airbag light when setting something under 10 lbs on the seat. Im thankful for my will to live as I walked a half kilometer to get help in shock, bleeding and with a concussion, I could have died that night.... ITS TIME FOR ANSWERS AND I WANT ANSWERS NOW!
