i had my stim implanted back in 9/08. everything went
pretty well. about 4-5 months after i began to get very
tender at the battery site. the battery was implanted on
my upper hip. more towards the backside on the upper
behind area/on my right side. it continued to get more
painful and eventually the battery made its way up to the
surface and was literally right under the skin. it was so
extremely tender, red, inflamed, it was bruised almost to
the point of being black and yellow and i could barely
stand rubbing that area up against anything. the pain
doctor i see told me when they implant it they make a
pocket in the fatty tissue and put the battery in there
and eventually the fat grows back around it. i am tall
(almost 6 ft.) and he told me the reason this happened was
he must have installed it too low and i was irritating the
area by rubbing up against it when i would sit. due to my
serious back problems and other health issues i do sit
alot. he was very non chalant about it like 'oh, well',
and he went back in and moved it up about 4 or 5 inches.
