    Post: spine fusion

I just finished reading about the screw failure WOW i cant
believe these screws just snapped. I had a fusion of L-3&4
about 3 yrs ago with no problems. I think the key is how
well do you grow bone, not if you smoke ect. I think a
good clue is how hard are your finger nails. If you have
soft pliable nails good chance your bones are the same. My
nails are super hard, and i`m a large man 6`6' 280lbs. So
if anybody should have broke some screws i should have.
ive been dealing with lower back pain all my life i`m now
48 yrs old. I had a MASSIVE RUPTURE of L-4&5 in 97 with
plenty of nerve damage. Now i`m look at a medtronic SCS
i`m to have implated the 14th of july. Another thing ppl
who dont have problems with the scs or spinal fusion ( the
majority ) you wont hear from them. I have a friend who
has 4 fusions and 4 of the flexable rods in his back and
he went for a scs had a load of problems had to have 3
surgeries the controler didnt like the position that it
was in( not medtronic ) all the hardware in his back made
made everything difficult for his doctor, But he is loving
his scs and says he would do it again in a min.
