Post: Medtronics Pain Stimulator

I have just had the Medtronics Pain Stimulator removed - and thank God I was not paralized by it. I had it implanted about 2 years ago and like others the trial was wonderful but nothing but trouble and pain from then on. First it rolled over into the canal and was shocking me whether it was on or off. They moved the leads and then it didn't cover the area of pain at all but just sent tingling sensations and shocking. After four surgeries, I have finally gotten it removed but they had to leave the leads going in as too dangerous to take out. I don't know what will happen when they start corroding. Please if you are thinking about having one implanted - check out all the problems they are having. I don't know if it's the doctors that don't know what they are doing, the reps, or the unit itself; but once it's put in you are on your own. No responsibility or explanation. They act as if you're the only one that hasn't been help by this. I think, in my own personal opinion, they inject the patient with a steriod that causes the pain to be gone during trial period and that is why no pain. Just my opinion.
