My wife had the Medtronic SPS implanted in 2007 and after a
couple months useage, suffered what appears to be a thermal
burn over the area where the battery was implanted. The
tissue in and around the area began to disintergrate and a
debridment of the area had to be done. Upon healing and
observation by the Medtronic Rep, he said the device was ok
for use again. A second incident occured causing more
damage and as a result the entire device was removed. If
anyone has sustained a similar experience, please email me
personally and I will provide you with photographic
documentation of the affected stimulator site and what
transpired in her case. We are actively seeking individuals
who have had similar problems and I'm asking you to contact
me.
