Well i had the spinal stem put in April 9, 2009. first of
juse i got a fever and felt terrible my primary dr gave me
antibiotics and i got better. In july the same thing
happened. never coulf figure out what was wrong but fever
high enough to figure there was infection somewhere. Two
weeks ago fever got up to 105 and site where spinal stem is
was swollen up like a base ball. Went to doctor at 4 and
was in surgery at 6 haven it taken out and scrubbing out as
much of the staff infection as they could get. I am
finally home with a PIC line in my arm and still fever that
comes back every time I stop taking tylenol and advil. I
get antibiotics twice a day in PIC line and will problably
have it for at least 8 to 12 weeks more.This is horrible.
Cant do anything. Soooo tired all the time and my back is
killing me. the stim did help my back but i am scared of
this happening again if i let them put a new one in. Dr
says once staff infection is gone for a couple fo mths we
can put it back in. Anyone have this happen?
