I had my implant in Feb of this year. As with your wife all was well. It actual seemed heaven sent compared to a different stim I had implanted years earlier. My current problem is that the stimulator turns on by itself, even when driving. Even if the device is turned all the way down it seems to turn on at full blast. This will cause an accident if I continue to drive. That being said the problem just started a few days ago but I am also having a very lethargic feeling and my legs are extremely weak. The battery becomes extremely hot and I suspect it's leaking. Trying to get my Medtronics rep to admit it was a faulty battery was like trying to pull eye teeth. When I demanded the battery be changed she said that was between my doctor and myself. Like you they ran tests and said the battery seems to be in fine working order and that maybe the problem is in my head. (I mean come on) I broke my back near ten years ago and I think I have a pretty good understanding of it by now. I imagine their demeanor is directly related to covering their asses. I don't want to sue anyone. I just want some sort of relief. Please tell your wife my prayers are with her and for you as well. We both know these problems affect the WHOLE family. Please contact me with any progress you are having maybe we can help each other, and I will do the same. My e-mail is sweendog67@verizon.net. Funny. The rep also told me no-one else seemed to be having any problems. Thanks for listening, Billy Sweeney
