I just got thrown off a Werner Model S2208. Granted the ladder
is a 2004 model but is properly installed using the Werner
instructions. Now, here this: Using potted aluminum for a
hinge point is bordering on "retarded". Aluminum has no
endurance limit and why would you use a potted piece at the
most critical part of the structure. No one who has any
engineering skill would do this! The model is defective and
dangerous. Like I said it broke with no warning catapulting me
to the ground. Fortunately I was able to roll when I hit.
Outside of a huge bruise and some cuts I am ok. Both cast
pieces sheared through the axle point. If this had been made
from steel it NEVER would break like this! I will be
contacting these knuckleheads and amd considering seeking
legal advice since this is obviously a very irresponsibly made
product.
