I am a 43y/o male who was DX with avascular necrosis about
2 to 3 yrs ago, Starting in both shoulders,I replaced my
right one then while I was recovering I was DX with AVN in
both hips I am seeing my surgeon in 1 week to see when I am
going to do the left hip and hold off on the right until
needed.This all started when I was 38yrs old around 2005
and started having pulmonary problems called empyema not
emphysema with this disease you have a accumulation of pus
on the outside of your lung and if it gets bad your lung
collapses this happened to both lungs (reason unknown)so I
moved to North Carolina for Dukes pulm program #1 in the
U.S. they almost killed me with prednisone up to 80mg's
down to 10mg's then back up over and over, the doctors
secretary ordered this because the doctor was busy this
lasted 18months I also gained 100-lbs when I confronted the
doctor she told me this was one of the side effects and
never heard from Duke again.I think with all of the AVN
cases due to prednisone there should be and could be a
class action suit even though it's a generic drug.Look at
the meso class action suit that was brought against all of
the manufacturers of there product.Several drug companies
are responsible this has ruined my life and has put a
burden on my family and if I didn't have family I would be
in a nursing home at 43.something needs to be done.Regards
