    Post: Medtronics Spinal Nerve Stimulator

    Posted by Steve on 7/16/10

I had a Medtronics Spinal Nerve Stimulator implanted in
2001 and it worked good for me for about 4 years when I
started feeling a shock like I had put my finger in a
electric socket. I didn't like this feeling so I tried
turning the signal strength down but I still kept getting
shocks. So I had no choise but to turn the unit off and I
stopped getting shocked. I had to see another Pain
Management Doctor because the Doctor that inplanted the
device moved out of the area. The Dr. did tests and
couldn't find the reason for the device not to function
properly. The battries were fine, but the device soon quit
working.Nothing at al, just stopped!! So I had to start
getting spinal nervr blocks to revieve my pain.I was told
by the Medtronics Rep. that the divice would work for me
the rest of my life but I might have to have the battries
    changed every 4 or 5 years.The Device didn't even last 4
years before it started having problems.I now have a knot
in the middle of my back that can't be explained. I would
STRONGLY recomane to anyone who is thinking about having
any Medtronics Device impalnted to choose another option
and another maker (which are now many) before choosing
    anything made by Medtronics.
