About a year a go, I bought an S-2210 Werner ladder that was
a take out from a new house. The owners had elected to
utilize the space as living space, so didn't need the attic
ladder. I weigh 195 lbs, the ladder is supposed to be rated
at 300 lbs. A couple weeks ago, I was coming down the ladder
empty handed when one of the pot metal hinges on the bottom
section broke. Fortunately, I had a good grip on the rung
above me and avoided a serious fall. When I went to
Werner's website to order a replacement hinge, I found a
notice that replacement hinges are not available. Go figure?
