A Dr. who practices nearby, that my mother Jennie Carroll
saw for R/A prescribed predisone 20 mg. which he gave her
for approx. 3 yrs., which has caused my mother's bones to
literally fall apart. She was never told that it caused
damage to your bones, disc, etc. as it has, only that it
caused weight gain. She's had to have a knee replaced and
needs the same on her other, and hips. Her back recently
became fractured in many areas, and doctors have just told
her, after x-rays, she now has the same thing going on in
her neck where the discs and vertabraes are crumbling away.
She cannot lift her head, due to horrific pain. It recently
came to our attention, that predisone should have only been
prescribed in very low doses for very short periods. We
also feel this doctor, who prescribed it was extremely
derelict. My mother suffered every minute of her life, and
has no help other than me, and I also have R/A. How could
this happen to her ? She trusted the doctor to help her,
and he only has brought more suffering to her, and why are
these drugs being prescribed for people to take ? This has
made her life a nightmare, that she cannot wake-up from !!
Please, PLEASE tell others what this horrible drug does !
She cannot even sleep, to have peace, it destroys people's
lives. She is such a good person,and it is so hard to hear
her in agony, yet cannot do anything to help her, or stop
it. When she cries, We all cry for her, Please Help her !
